CEC was hired by Colorado Parks and Wildlife to analyze the distribution, abundance, and diversity of wildlife species in Lone Mesa State Park and Green Ranch of Golden Gate State Park for planning purposes. Created 30 monitoring locations where breeding bird surveys were conducted and wildlife cameras were established. Analyzed over 300,000 photos collected on wildlife cameras and organized them by species and monitoring point in an Access database. Produced a report documenting methods, results, and a discussion of findings. Data will be used in the future planning of the Park infrastructure such as trails, campgrounds, parking areas, etc.

“All ethics so far evolved rest upon a single premise: that the individual is a member of a community of interdependent parts. The land ethic simply enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants and animals, or collectively the land.”
