Lone Mesa Species Distribution Study

Hired by Colorado Parks and Wildlife to analyze the distribution, abundance, and diversity of wildlife species in Lone Mesa State Park for planning purposes. Created 30 monitoring locations where breeding bird surveys were conducted and wildlife cameras were established. Documented 75 different bird species within the Park. Analyzed over 300,000 photos collected on wildlife cameras and organized them by species and monitoring point in an Access database. Produced a report documenting methods, results, and a discussion of findings. Data will be used in the future planning of the Park and this project is expected to continue for the next 3-5 years.
