Responsible for surveying fuels mitigation sites for bird species changes throughout time; before, during, and after fuels mitigation management. Developed monitoring locations in the park by plotting GIS points within planned fuels management areas.  Then visited established points in the field and collected data on bird breeding status, abundance, and diversity and photos of each location. Data was downloaded and analyzed in ArcGIS. A comprehensive report of methods, results, and discussion, GIS data, and map products was submitted. Surveys were conducted at Mueller and Lone Mesa State Parks.

“All ethics so far evolved rest upon a single premise: that the individual is a member of a community of interdependent parts. The land ethic simply enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants and animals, or collectively the land.”
